The Umbrella Academy Season 2: Ranking EVERY Character From Worst To Best

2. Klaus

The Umbrella Academy
Netflix

Only Klaus Hargreeves could find himself in a completely foreign time and manage to start a bloody cult.

That statement right there sums up exactly why so many people were instantly drawn to the character. And your writer is happy to inform you that it's also an example of why he manages to set himself apart from (almost) everyone else on the show... again.

Klaus is an agent of chaos; He's unpredictable, volatile and doomed to repeat his cycle of self-destruction whenever something doesn't go the way he hoped it would. He's also incredibly charismatic, engaging and full of life (thanks in no small part of Robert Sheehan's captivating performance) and that makes him incredibly interesting.

The fact that he started a cult is totally believable considering the type of person he is, but the material that followed enhanced his character as his always-clever interactions with Ben made him question himself. And as for his desire to stop his beloved Dave from enlisting, that was among some his best storylines yet.

It's hard to decide whether he's better here than he was in Season 1 because the truth is that he was one of the few flawless aspects of The Umbrella Academy's maiden voyage. But we'll tell you this: He's every bit as brilliant as he was the first time around.
