Ups...

8. It's Better Than The First Season In (Almost) Every Way

There's always the worry that a second season will simply fail to recapture the charm of the first or end up feeling a tad stale, but that thankfully isn't the case at all here.

If season two perhaps lacks the immediate, unexpected wow factor of its predecessor, in almost every other respect it is a sure improvement. For starters, it's funnier, it's far more heartfelt and affecting, and the action sequences feel decidedly more stylish.

But beyond all that it addresses a number of the fundamental issues people had with season one: tonally it feels a lot more consistent despite its constant flirtation between light and dark.

The pacing is also hugely improved, as it truly feels like each of the season's ten episodes actually need to exist in order to tell this story.

Some fans may lament the general absence of season one fan favourites Hazel (Cameron Britton) and Cha-Cha (Mary J. Blige), but by and large it's clear that creator Steve Blackman has listened to his critics.
