The US Office: 10 Best Episodes Of All Time
5. Customer Survey
The Office often shined when Jim and Dwight were both at odds with each other, which is why Customer Survey is such a great episode. John Krasinski and Rainn Wilson both did excellent jobs in portraying their characters as absurd caricatures of believable co-workers.
Customer Survey sees the two characters in a rare moment of cooperation to investigate their suspiciously low customer survey scores. Despite their cooperation it doesn’t stop the two from their signature confrontation, which peaks during a mock sales call set up by Michael to work on Dwight’s prickly sales technique.
The episode focuses on these two characters for the most part, but it does have some alternate mini storylines running in parallel to Jim and Dwight’s investigation. Pam, now in New York working part-time at Dunder Mifflin head office, has a brief moment with a fellow art student when he tells her he thinks she should stay in New York once she finishes school, which creates some doubt on whether Pam will return to Scranton.
Customer Survey doesn’t make full use of the cast of characters available, however hearing Dwight yell “BUTTLICKER, OUR PRICES HAVE NEVER BEEN LOWER!” at the top of his voice into a telephone is enough to put this episode amongst the best the series has to offer.
