The Voice: 5 Reasons It's Completely Underrated

3. The Coaches€™ Squabbles

The Voice judges There are never really any hard feelings, but the way the coaches annoy each other when fighting for a contestant is good fun to watch. will.i.am is often the instigator, butting in to tell the contestant who he thinks they should go with depending on their musical style or personality, and this annoys Jessie J in particular, often mimicking his voice next to him. Even when not frustrating the others, Will.i.am has the most vibrant personality, with the deep announcer voice he creates with his microphone when a contestant is being indecisive, or his almost-catchphrase €œI€™m gonna be transparent now.€ In season two, it is fun to watch the introduction of more tactics after rivalries grew in the wake of Tom Jones€™ victory last year, and this means that they end up annoying each other more as they call each other out on whether they turned round at the last second or arguing over whether who turned round first is important. Danny O€™Donoghue also seems to get on Jessie J€™s nerves sometimes, whether he€™s starting chants in his own or someone else€™s favour, wearing double denim or charming all the ladies. This is easily one of the most simultaneously amicable and fiery teams of coaches we€™ve had on a talent programme and with all four from such different backgrounds, both social and musical, there is someone there to appeal to everyone.
