4. Mother Nature 'Committed Suicide'

This is one of the most ludicrous theories, but in a world where everyone wants to be a tree-hugging, Prius-driving, child of the Earth, an environmental ending probably isn't too far out of the realms of possibility. Now I'm not going to go about sparking off crude oil from the window of my Hummer in an attempt to break the planet, but will Mother Nature one day just decide enough is enough and basically kill herself? That's what one theory suggests has happened in The Walking Dead. Humans charged up one too many iPhones, left on one to many bathroom lights, and spat out a million too many tonnes of CO2, so Mother Nature released natural toxins designed to slowly eradicate the Earth parasites. It's an interesting theory, but it means I'll have to explain the ending to my friends as 'they all died because... Earth' and that's simply not a good thing.
