4. Lori's Death

Lori was without a doubt one of the most annoying characters in the show, unbelievably losing her only child in every situation, inexplicably managing to roll her car on an empty road, and generally just causing problems for everyone in the group with the whole Rick/Shane situation rumbling on. It speaks volumes about the fantastic work of the creators that her despite her irritating persona, her death was an absolute tear-jerker. She goes into labour at the worst possible time, holed up in a side room of the prison with walkers fast-approaching. Maggie performs an emergency C-section and the rest is history. Lori bleeds to death after a frantic outpouring to Carl, who then proceeds to put a bullet through her corpse to prevent reanimation. The group's reaction, and Rick's reaction to the death of his wife and birth of his child is incredible. It's a must-watch scene.
