The Walking Dead: 10 Best Villains From The TV Show

2. Shane

Shane Walsh is the perfect example of a Hero-turned-Villain, starting off as one of Rick€™s best friends, expressing great remorse when he believed that Rick had died in the hospital. However, taking it upon himself to take care of Rick€™s family, Shane started falling for Lori. When Rick returned, it ruined Shane€™s relationship with Lori and kick-started his alienation from the group, with Rick assuming the leadership role that Shane had once secured. Shane briefly showed his aggression when he aimed his gun at Rick as they searched the woods, which Dale saw and led to some heated animosity between the two. However, it wasn€™t until Season Two that Shane showed his true colours, sacrificing Otis to walkers so that his own leg injury wouldn€™t prevent him from making it home. From there, Shane was a loose cannon, letting his aggression out frequently. In Shane€™s last attempt to eliminate Rick, he killed Randall and convinced the others that he escaped, breaking his own nose to lure Rick into the woods and murder him. In the end, he was stabbed to death by Rick, and shot once again by Carl when he reanimated. Shane Walsh was an absolutely fantastic character, played by the extraordinary Jon Bernthal, and although his death was a huge loss from the show, it was a fitting demise that allowed Rick to grow into the new world. To this day, Shane is likely still the most difficult man that Rick has had to put down, from a personal standpoint.
