The doctor of series six and another character killed way before their time.

Not much was known about Denise until she was promoted to Alexandria's resident doctor. It wasn't a job she particularly wanted, especially after seeing the previous executed by Rick. Despite this, she thrived in the job and you could see her confidence growing, week by week. Initially quite a dull character, she grew in stature, as she became integrated as part of the core group.

Denise sparked up a romance with Tara and this ultimately led to her downfall. It was a random couple the producers definitely just threw together but it worked. You could see their bond was genuine when one of the Wolves took Denise hostage. The ordeal shook Tara and left her in an awful state. Despite this, Tara departed on a scavenging trip shortly after and they never saw each other again.

It was during this time apart that Denise decided to prove how tough she was. Big mistake! Daryl and Rosita reluctantly take her with them on a supply run where she gets into a fight with a walker over a can of orange soda and wins. In her moment of triumph, she delivers a rousing speech, firmly putting Daryl and Rosita in their place.

Finally, she shows growth as a character and becomes a worthy member of the group. Two seconds later, she has an arrow in her head. Typical.
