Rick seems like the obvious choice for the top spot, though he must settle for second. He's the leader of the group whether he (or they) like it or not. As long as that core group remains, he's still the sheriff in town, and only death is going to change that. There's an immense pressure on Rick to keep the group alive, and it's his unofficial job to ensure that tough, tough decisions have to be made to protect his children. Keeping everyone else alive is almost like a bonus for him rather than the number one objective. His blunt assessment of the sweet life in Alexandria highlights his status as the anti-hero, with the final scene of Season 5 showing him executing Pete. A bold, bloody move that he had the stomach to undertake. Rick will do anything, and has done everything, to protect his family, and that's not about to change.
