The Walking Dead:10 Important Things To Remember Before Season 8
4. Morgan Kills Again
Facing a choice of life or Carol’s death, Morgan killed a Saviour at the end of season six, only to then plead peace with Rick and Ezekiel as the former threatened war against Negan.
However, the course of events over season seven brought Morgan to the breaking point of his all life is precious philosophy. It was the murder of young pupil Benjamin which pushed Morgan over the edge. We saw him strangle Kingdom steward Richard for instrumenting that death at The Saviours’ hands, and then swear vengeance on all of Negan’s forces.
Morgan appeared unhinged in the final episodes of last season, reminiscent of his ‘clear’ days from back in season three, but Carol and Ezekiel at least talked him down from his one-man revenge mission, and persuaded him to march alongside them to Alexandria.
After taking out some of his aggression in the season finale, killing several of the enemy with either a gun or the newly-sharpened end of his staff, there was more calmness about Morgan, who will be a valuable member of Rick’s militia if he can maintain this balance.
