5. Merle's Arm

Merle is another character who seems like he was around in a completely different era. He actually started off as a more significant character than Daryl, but Merle was overtaken by his brother after a heroic (and tragic) death scene. Rewinding all the way back to the beginning of the show, Merle was forced to remove his own hand in order to escape a rooftop about to be flooded with walkers. He returned to the show in Season 3, riding with The Governor's crew, complete with a badass new metal arm. And Merle being Merle, he had a knife strapped to it. He was a dangerous, flawed man, yet there was still some form of good left in him by the end.
