The difference is that not many get to hit the reset button and take things back to the very start. Fear will allow the creators to iron out any wrinkles from the parent show, and with an immense online following, there's no shortage of material they could use as feedback.
Their 'market research' is there for all to see, countless rivers of positive and negative comments, so hopefully they've taken time to see what the general consensus is to what worked and what didn't. Of course, you can't please everyone, and you can't tailor a show just to appease the fanbase as they still need to be shocked. However, the writers certainly aren'y venturing into this new project blindly.
