Some places come off worse than others during the events of the story arc known as The Whisperer War, and Hilltop Colony definitely gets a raw deal.

The settlement makes a significant manpower contribution to the Militia, a collective army made up of personnel from all of the main towns, and ends up on the receiving end of a battering during the conflict.

A massive Whisperer army descends on Hilltop and bombards it with flaming arrows, burning the Barrington house to the ground, along with must of the other buildings inside the settlement.

Although the attackers are eventually fought off, Maggie and her people must head to Alexandria in search of refuge after the battle, since their hometown is mostly ash.

So what are the chances of this costly battle making it into the TV show? Pretty high, considering The Whisperers arc will almost certainly be adapted. It simply wouldn't make sense to leave one of the most important battles out of the war.
