5. Thinking He Can Take On The Saviors (Without Knowing Anything About Them)

Speaking of the Saviors, Rick ended up under their boot in the first place after making an idiotic decision that got a bunch of his friends killed. Emboldened after dispatching every enemy he came across, he offered to kill the Saviors for the Hilltop without knowing a single thing about them.

Instead of scoping out this new group, he walks straight into their satellite compounds and slaughters them all. In this scenario, the Alexandrians are essentially horror movie villains, who invade these homes at night and kill everyone while they're sleeping. It's dark stuff, and Glenn is even forced to kill his first human all because Rick ignorantly made an agreement.

That would be bad enough, but this of course comes back to bite them in the ass. Rick assumed he'd cleared all the Savior compounds, but later discovered they were only periphery bases, and there were hundreds of soldiers left. Unsurprisingly, they retaliate, which leads to Glenn and Abraham's death and Rick's group dominated for a whole season.
