4. Not Consoling Carl After He Had To Shoot Lori

Rick's always had a pretty strained relationship with his children. To call him an absent parent wouldn't be a mischaracterisation, as across the first couple of seasons he barely interacted with his daughter, and only remembered Carl existed when it was convenient.

However, his worst moment of parenting comes after the death of Lori. During a walker outbreak, Lori ends up giving birth and dying. Rick isn't aware of this, but Carl is with his mother and witnesses the whole thing, even being the one to stop her from reanimating after death.

When Rick finds out, he breaks down, yelling "no, no, no" over and over again while Carl just stands there with a thousand-yard stare.

It's a stunning bit of acting, but come on dude, your child just had to shoot his own mother in the head - at least ask how he's doing or something.
