The Walking Dead: 12 Best Cult Heroes

Oh, T-Dog. He didn’t always have a lot to say, but when he did it really mattered. He was a little bit clumsy, as seen in dropping the key to Merle’s handcuffs, but he could still kill walkers with the best of them.

He was one of the really ‘good’ characters on the show, an extremely religious man who drove a church van around trying to rescue people. He has faith in God and faith in people too, even going back to try and save Merle after the redneck had racially abused him. His character grew steadily throughout the seasons, becoming a more important and authoritative figure within the group.

In the end he died a fittingly heroic death, sacrificing himself to the walkers in order to save Carol’s life, not that the people on the show seem to ever remember it. You were too good for them, T-Dog, and we’ll never forget you.

NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far. A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
