The Walking Dead: 12 Best Cult Heroes

2. Carol

T-Dog The Walking Dead
AMC

Of all the characters on the show, Carol is the one recognised for going through the most emphatic change and growth.

She starts off as quite a meek person, the victim of domestic abuse by her husband Ed. After his death, however, she gains more confidence, and when her daughter dies and she’s the last remaining member of her family she becomes a much stronger person. Not just physically (although she does get more proficient with weapons), but emotionally.

She kills two members of the group in order to prevent a disease from spreading, and later puts down poor Lizzie to protect the group from her psychotic nature. When they arrive in Alexandria, she disguises herself as the simple housewife she once was in order to serve as a secret weapon to Rick and co.

It has now reached the stage where Carol is one of the most captivating characters to watch, and if she’s central to the episode you know it’s going to be a good one - she’s smart, cunning, and capable of killing a load of zombies (or humans, if necessary), while still managing to retain her humanity. She’s also formed a great bond with the best character on the show, which certainly hasn’t harmed her cause...
