The Walking Dead: 12 Moments That Pissed Off The Fans
1. Everytime It Repeats The Walking Dead Formula
Although not a specific moment, few things in The Walking Dead are capable of making viewers groan and question why they watch the show as the repetition of The Walking Dead formula, either across episodes or entire seasons.
Episodically, it generally involves a little bit of setup, then a few scenes of characters on the move or getting ready for action, zombies arrive, someone makes a mistake, there's a big threat, and then it ends with a hook for the next episode.
It's worse across seasons (again, it's something they appeared to have corrected right now), as it essentially follows: Find new location (farm, prison, etc) - settle in, develop routine - new threat emerges - minor skirmishes and build-up - huge battle, probably with explosions, generally around the mid-season point, and a relatively big character dies - a lot of walking ensues - discover new location.
Although the show has stabilised with Alexandria, and seems as though it really could have compelling stories using it as a base (interlinking with the new locations) for at least a couple more seasons, there was nothing more annoying than watching the formula play out time and again, but getting sucked back in because of how exciting it could be at the same time.
