The Walking Dead: 15 Best Episodes

14. Clear - S3 E12

Much of The Walking Dead focuses on the evolution of human behaviour during such an enormous catastrophe, and while some characters subtly develop over time, the return of Morgan Jones gave viewers the chance to see how much a person can change since the last time Jones was seen, during the series pilot episode. Morgan was faced with a heart-breaking test during his first appearance, and after seeing his son bitten and killed since Rick last encountered him, he basically crumbled, and began to booby-trap the town where Rick worked in a bid to wipe out the walkers. Rick enters Morgan's hideout after a confrontation in the streets with his first post-apocalyptic partner, but in a truly stunning scene from actor Lennie James, Morgan powerfully drives out his backstory. It's traumatic, and it's heart-wrenching, but it was a brilliant moment in the show.
