The Walking Dead 5.1 Review - 5 Talking Points From "Strangers In A Strange Land"

2. Flood Of The Dead

Something the show has gotten increasingly better at is the action scenes involving the zombies. The scene inside the €œBig Spot€ when it literally stated raining corpses remains a highlight and a great example of finding creative ways to present them as threats. And as our characters have gained more experience in this world, they€™ve become more adept at dispatching the undead walkers. It€™s definitely nice to see them using more hand-to-hand tools rather than mowing down the stumbling zombies with automatic gunfire as if they had an infinite supply of ammo. The flooded lower level of the food bank presented another such challenge, as we haven€™t seen the group have to deal with the undead in a submerged environment before. They formulated a plan and put in action, and were it not for Father Gabriel€™s bumbling it would have worked perfectly. Instead, it almost cost Bob his life. Still, it was an interesting and unique take on a zombie confrontation, rather than just another scene of them surrounding the gang while in the woods. Actually bringing themselves to eat what was in those cans after sitting in all that muck? That€™s a whole new level of hungry.
