The Episode: The First Day of the Rest of Your Life

How It Happened: After an unsuccessful assault on the Sanctuary, Sasha was captured and later put in a casket as part of a transport to Alexandria where someone else would be forced to pay for her actions. Rather than be used against her friends, Sasha used the suicide pills Eugene had made earlier in the season, passing away on the journey and emerging from the casket as a walker once Negan opened it up outside Alexandria's gate.

Why It Was Great: After losing Bob, Tyreese, and Abraham, it's no surprise that Sasha had lost hope by the end of the seventh season, and the fact that she weaponized herself in death in one last bid to save her friends was a noble end for the longtime character who finally found the peace she had been searching for.
