The Walking Dead: 6 Things "Try" Got Right (And 4 It Didn't)
1. It Already Feels Different
We are them, said Glenn during his conversation with Rick at the start of Try, with the group's de facto leader suggesting some sort of division between his lot and the folks of Alexandria. It's clear that some are acclimatising to their new surroundings better than others, with Glenn steadfast in wanting to stay, Rick paranoid that it's going to fall apart at any moment, and Carol somewhere in the middle. It already feels different, was another opinion put across, during Michonne and Rosita's cross-country search for Sasha but isn't that a good thing? Finally the show is making good on Michonne's wish to be more than just making it; actually making a life for themselves, not simply surviving to head to the next conflict or obstacle. Season five has been about confounding expectations, but also about re-positioning the show to a degree. Not only are most of your pre-conceptions of the show being overturned, but also they're implementing new things to replace them. Maybe now The Walking Dead is going to feel different. Next week's episode is promising to change everything: whether that means a new status quo, or simply returning to an old familiar one, remains to be seen...
