The Walking Dead: 8 Characters Who Should Die In Season 8

4. Eugene

Eugene enjoyed one of the more fascinating character arcs of season seven, beginning it as the overlooked trembler of Alexandria and ending it as Negan’s self-assured mad scientist.

While he does seem to have found his place in the Negan regime, there is some serious doubt over where Eugene's allegiances lie after his role in Sasha’s end-of-season death. Was that tablet an act of mercy for a friend, or was it part of the grander plan on her behalf?

Negan potentially has two turncoats in his ranks - with Dwight more blatantly switching sides with his message of innocence scribbled onto the wooden soldier found by Daryl. The odds are that the leader of The Saviours discovers one of his false servants before too much damage is done; indeed it would be a stain on his intelligence and aura if he were not to.

The character of Dwight is fresher to the audience and has depths that the show is yet to truly visit. If one of them is to die, Eugene has less to offer in the future, once he has armed Negan with bullets, and should meet his end courtesy of Lucille in the mid-season finale.
