The Walking Dead: 8 Things "Forget" Got Right (And 2 It Didn't)

7. Secret Meetings

Meanwhile, not everything is a rosy as it seems with the Rick Grimes Clandestine Conference Group. If television has taught us anything €“ from Twin Peaks to Broadchurch to South Park €“ it's that any sort of idyllic town or city is probably concealing some really dark stuff just below the surface, festering and ready to bring the whole thing down at any moment. At least that appears to be the opinion of this little paranoia group of Rick, Carol and Daryl who have been meeting up in that little hut in the woods where Deputy Grimes has hidden a cache of hand guns for goodness-knows-what. This whole plotline is a really quite smart and interesting reversal of the usual Walking Dead set up, and about time too. In this case it's taking the tried-and-tested formula of the group joining up with some new survivors, realising there's something fishy about them, and then barely escaping with their necks intact. Here, though, Rick and co don't really have much to be afraid of €“ it's them that are the fishy ones, with their secrets and planning, which will probably mean an unfortunate end for Alexandria.
