The Walking Dead: 8 Things "Forget" Got Right (And 2 It Didn't)
6. Officer Rick, Arrogant Pr*ck
In those scenes and throughout the episode Andrew Lincoln is doing dynamite work, slowly revealing that the Rick Grimes who has so effectively lead his rag-tag brigade of zombie killers outside the walls is kind of a huge douchebag within them. Rick isn't any different now he's part of Alexandria, but placing him in this new context sheds new light upon the character. The first of which is the amazing arrogance he has about their effectiveness at surviving. Already letting the power of being a cop again go to his head, early on in Forget he opines that the Alexandria group have only been surviving because of dumb luck than any real skills. Not like him and his people. Not only that, but the people of Alexandria are especially lucky to have the Rick Grimes Survival Experts on board. Rather ironic that he doesn't trust them at all and will probably instigate their downfall. Like the secret meeting plot, it's an intelligent reversal of the norm, with Rick continuing down his path of being this season's bad guy.
