The Walking Dead: 8 Things "Forget" Got Right (And 2 It Didn't)

5. More More Michonne

Meanwhile Michonne, who's long been Rick's second-in-command, looks to be stepping into his shoes as the real de facto leader of the group. She didn't have as much to do in €œForget€ as she might have done in previous episodes, but the few scenes she did get Danai Gurira nailed. That mostly silent scene where she tries on her own wind-breaker, complete with corset-style ties at the back, which she shortened with a swipe of her katana? That was pretty badass. Even her apparent decision to retire her samurai sword was one you could respect. Michonne is being smart and pragmatic in the way Rick used to be, and in many ways her character is operating in the way the elder Grimes once did: her scene with Abraham was touching, funny and bittersweet. If the show is moving Rick into the villain spot, they could do worse than putting this great character €“ who is also a black woman €“ into pole position instead.
