The Walking Dead: 8 Things "Remember" Got Right (And 2 It Didn't)

7. €œIt's A Good Thing We're Here€

Season five of The Walking Dead has shown a shifting of gears for the Rick Grimes Adventure Scouts. Before they were just regular men and women thrown into an extraordinary situation, trying their best to adapt to this new world order whilst also clinging desperately onto the new ways, out of hope that one day things might all go back to how they were before. At this point, that hope is pretty much dead. And so the characters have changed, in the way that only characters on a long-running, serialised show like this can €“ and even afforded that opportunity, TV shows rarely take it €“ so that they've mostly abandoned their previous positions in favour of becoming well-oiled zombie stabbing machines who will do whatever it takes to look after themselves and their own. Dropping those seasoned survivalists into an environment that doesn't necessarily need those skills is a really neat rug pull, especially coming up to the final third of this season. Rick says it's a good thing they're there after Sasha expertly pops a walker right between the eyes, but it's starting to feel like the group aren't always the heroes of this show, and they aren't always in the right.
