The Walking Dead: Every Character Ranked Worst To Best

24. Abraham Ford

The Walking Dead
AMC

Appearances: Season 4-7 (29 episodes).

From his very first appearance to his harrowing last, Abraham Ford reigned supreme as The Walking Dead's resident wordsmith. A haunted soldier with a mean temper and deep desire to be better, he worked best as a witty, butt-kicking sidekick.

Played with endless charisma by Michael Cudlitz (who would go on to direct several episodes after Abraham's death), there were times in the latter stages of his role where he felt frustratingly underused, but he always stepped up to remind audiences why he was such a rollicking fan favourite.

Loyal and tough, his relationships with Eugene, Rosita and Sasha sweetly humanised the big brute, and made his death at the hands of Negan all the more horrific.
