The Walking Dead: Every Season 5 Episode Ranked Worst To Best

4. The Distance

The Walking Dead Conquer
AMC

After almost an entire season of hopelessness and desperation, The Distance finds the group introduced to the possibility of a new future thanks to series newcomer Aaron, a scout for Alexandria who promises them safety.

Unfortunately, there are a few roadblocks in the way to their new home, namely the group's inability to trust anyone - not even Aaron - with their lives.

Eventually, though, the group agree to move out and see Alexandria for themselves, a trip that comes to an abrupt and bloody end when Glenn drives through a massive walker herd in what is surely on of the show's most spectacular and exciting scenes.

An episode that once again finds balance between the show's action-heavy drama and the more character-driven complexities of the story, The Distance is the season's biggest game-changer, and one of the series' most underrated gems.
