What Happened and What's Going On is the most unique and haunting episode of The Walking Dead's entire run, an experimental tour de force that follows Tyreese as he comes to terms with his immanent death.
On a mission to see if Noah's family is still alive, Rick, Michonne, Glenn, and Tyreese come to terms with their grief and lack of hope, whilst Michonne tries to convince Rick they need to settle down somewhere.
At the centre of the episode, Tyreese is bitten and begins to hallucinate people from his past guiding him to his fate. This development features the return of The Governor, Beth, Bob and Lizzie and Mika Samuels, and a powerhouse performance from Chad Coleman.
Scary, tragic, unpredictable and gorgeously shot by series veteran Greg Nicotero, What Happened and What's Going On is nothing short of a masterpiece.
