The Walking Dead: First Photo From Season 7 Looks A Lot Like Season 6 Finale
Eeny, meeny, miny, mo.
Six months will have passed between The Walking Dead Season 6 finale and the Season 7 premiere, but in the world of the show not even a single second will have gone by.
EW have revealed the first image from the upcoming season, and it looks a hell of lot like the images we saw in the Season 6 finale, which it's supposed to.
Season 6 left things on a major cliffhanger, with Negan preparing to kill one of Rick's group after lining all of them up on the ground, but the scene was filmed in a way that meant we didn't get to see just which character the new villain beat to death.
The new image confirms that Season 7 will pick things up immediately at that point, which is a smart move - given the negative reaction to the cliffhanger, anything other than showing the death in the opening moments would probably spark riots.
Executive producer Greg Nicotero, who will be directing the episode, says that "who was at the receiving end of Negan’s bat will be revealed in the first episode."
Nicotero also gave a little more information about Negan, and that we can expect plenty more grandstanding speeches like the one he delivered in the Season 6 finale:
"He’s the kind of guy who imagines himself on stage at a high school production and he loves every second of it. So, I don’t really see a lot of quiet contemplative moments with Negan. I feel like with Negan it’s really going to be about him gesticulating and him sort of relishing in the sound of his own voice while he commands the stage in front of whoever’s alive.”
The Walking Dead Season 7 is expected to air in October. Share your guesses on who Negan killed down in the comments.
