The Walking Dead Season 11 Review: 3 Ups & 7 Downs From "Out Of The Ashes"

8. DOWN: Maggie And Negan's Conflict

The Walking Dead
AMC

Between the trouble at Alexandria, the group's most recent supply run and the proper introduction of the Commonwealth, Out of the Ashes manages to squeeze in some one-on-one time with Maggie and Negan, who are still on the run and hiding out from the Reapers.

Watching like a bored replay of their last episode together, the pair butt heads over Maggie's leadership before being reunited with Gabriel and Elijah, and it offers literally nothing new to their already fractured relationship.

Considering how much is going on this episode - especially in regards to the Commonwealth, which could have done with its own solo outing - they just feel shoe-horned into the script, and their scenes can easily be skipped without missing anything important.

I get to write about what I love, so that's pretty cool. Every great film should seem new every time you see it. Be excellent to each other.
