The Walking Dead Season 11 Review: 5 Ups & 5 Downs From "For Blood"

8. DOWN: Rosita's Stand-Out Moment Is Cut Short

The Walking Dead For Blood
AMC

In Alexandria, Rosita takes centre stage as she attempts to protect Judith and the kids from an incoming walker herd during a storm.

Partway through the episode, she realises the walkers are going to overrun them, so she rushes out to take the herd down single-handedly. Though this fight starts strong, highlighting how tough and underused Rosita really is, the vast majority of the scene is spent looking at Judith's reaction to it.

It's a strange editing choice that turns what should have been an awesome stand against a deadly enemy into nothing more than a passing development with little bearing on the rest on the episode.

Once you remember how cruelly side-lined Rosita has been since the start of season ten, the scene is even more frustrating to watch. At this point, it looks like the writers have forgotten what to do with several long-standing characters, and Rosita's right at the top of the list.
