The Walking Dead Season 11 Review - 7 Ups & 1 Down From "Outpost 22"
7. Up - Introduction to the Warden
The Commonwealth this season has seen plenty of antagonists come and go that have put the protagonists in more danger than anyone else before them. Even though the show only has a few more episodes to go, new villainous faces are still being revealed.
The Warden is introduced in this week's episode as the person in charge of the prisoners and Outpost 22, a mysterious facility where they are forced to do hard labour and provide the resources for the Commonwealth. Coming off as a cold and calculative man, the Warden knows how to implant dread and fear into the hearts of everyone under his care.
How he will impact the episodes and the rest of the show so late in the game is hard to say at this point, though it's probably safe to say that he won't be for long. But actor Michael Weaver delivers a formal yet intimidating dialogue to the other actors that are on par with major villains audiences have watched before.
Furthermore, his introduction also sets up the devastating situation that Negan, Ezekiel, and co. find themselves in, stuck in the shadow of Pamela's wrath.
