The Walking Dead Season 11 Review - 7 Ups & 1 Down From "Outpost 22"

3. Up - Interrogation with the Soldier

The chances are that if you are being interrogated or tortured for information in the world of The Walking Dead, the outcome for survival is a slim one and often ends up with a bloody and gruesome death. Despite this though, one such interrogation ends on a rather sombre and peaceful note.

Knocking out one of the patrolling soldiers by Maggie, Daryl drags the injured and dying man to an abandoned barn and questions him on what exactly Outpost 22 is and where they are keeping their children. Being forceful and straight to the point with his methods, Gabriel steps in and becomes the unexpected hero for the wounded soldier.

Having fought most of his way through the eleventh season, Gabriel's peaceful and honest exchange with their prisoner shows off his soft side as a priest that audiences haven't had much of a chance to see, which is a welcome and refreshing breather. He and his people may have been ruthless in order to evade capture, but this scene also acts as a great reminder of their values and why everyone has rooted for their survival.

Gabriel actor Seth Gilliam demonstrates why he has been a great fit for the character and brings out the balance of peacefulness and maturity while the priest prays with the dying man.
