2. Carol

While most of those on the list of potential/probable deaths so far have been more towards the B-list of cast members (even though the likes of Rosita, Eugene, and Sasha are all part of the main cast, they're not quite heavy-hitters like Daryl or Michonne), I think the show will spring for one 'A-list' death in the finale (even if it might be wanting to save some truly monumental moments for the Season 8 premiere, which will be its 100th).

If that comes, there are two obvious candidates, one of whom is Carol. She's been on an arguably bigger journey than any other character throughout the show's history, with the most fleshed-out arc and development, aided by the fact Melissa McBride is one of, if not the strongest performer on the series.

After going through a period where she refused to kill and cut herself off from everyone, she's very much back in the fold, and ready to take on Negan and the Saviours. Which is good news for Rick and also us viewers, and terrible for the bad guys.

At the same time, though, there's such a weariness to Carol now (in herself, not in a getting tired of her way) where she was ready to be done with the world, and the stage is very much set for a 'one last fight' kind of deal. She's saved their skins so many times, it'd be fitting for her to be forced back in doing so again, coming to the rescue of someone like Daryl or Morgan, before finally falling in what would be (if done right) one of the show's most poignant moments ever.
