The Walking Dead Season 7: 9 Things That Will (Probably) Happen Next
6. Maggie Fully Takes Over The Hilltop
With Gregory out of the way, there's a vacuum at the top of the hill that needs to be filled, and they won't be able to waste much time in doing it, what with the impending war and all.
The obvious choice, then, is Maggie. She's already been built up to become a prominent figure at the Colony in her relatively short time there in Season 7, and has challenged Gregory's authority on several occasions.
This stretches back to Season 6, before we'd even met Negan, when Rick decided she'd be the one to try and talk Gregory round back then. That sowed the seeds of her becoming one of the show's leaders, and it's now time to truly reap them.
Putting Maggie in charge gives Rick a key ally who will join him in fighting Negan, but it also gives the Hilltop a great leader, not just for the people but in terms of watching it as a part of the show. It doesn't have much future under Gregory, but Maggie - who has gradually become a really interesting character, with excellent performances from Lauren Cohan - will mean it's worth spending time there.
