The Walking Dead Season 7 Premiere: 4 Ups & 6 Downs From 'The Day Will Come When You Won't Be'
5. Daryl Taken Prisoner
In the aftermath of the deaths of Glenn and Abraham, of what happens to Rick and almost happens to Carl, this development could easily get a bit lost. Daryl, having been the only one to break ranks and lose it with Negan, is taken prisoner by the Saviours.
Admittedly this could work out well; Dwight seems to have a particular interest in him, and there may be some interest they can wring out of him being a prisoner.
On the other hand, and what it certainly seems like right now, is the show taking one of its better characters and putting him in a jail cell, ostracised from the main storyline. I'm not as beholden to Daryl as many Walking Dead fans (if done right, I wouldn't riot over his death), but he does provide a spark few others can match.
Having him separated from the rest of the group hasn't worked out too well in the past, and now - when they've lost two big players - doesn't seem like the right time to try it again.
