The Walking Dead Season 8 Spoilers: 10 Things You Need To Know About All Out War

7. Dwight And Eugene's Allegiances

The Walking Dead Dwight

Dwight still serves as a key member of the Saviours during All Out War, and indeed he frequently straddles the lines between the two sides, doing one thing but then clearly winking at the reader that he means something else. He does, ultimately, work with Rick though - for example leading an attack against Alexandria, but then betraying his own men, and playing his part in the ultimate ending.

Eugene, like in the TV show, is something of an expert in making bullets, which he does so in a factory at Alexandria, and also like in the TV show he is taken prisoner by Negan. However, when Negan demands he makes ammo for him, he steadfastly refuses to betray Rick, even when faced with an iron to the face or castration, and eventually he's able to make an escape.

Dwight's arc could go very similar to the comics, since he has already professed his loyalties to Rick - but then again, there's not been enough yet to truly know one way or another. Indeed, the series could have some fun with keeping us guessing, and Dwight is already established as an interesting and layered character that it could work. It may also depend on what happens with his wife Sherry, who you'd assume will come back into it in some way.

As for Eugene, he's given himself over to Negan much more completely, yet there are still signs of his old loyalties in there - such as giving the pill to Sasha. It won't be straightforward, but I don't think we've seen him become completely Negan or irredeemable.
