The Walking Dead Season 9: 5 Ups & 0 Downs From 'Scars'
2. Daryl & Michonne's Friendship
With so little of the show's original characters left, it's important for the writers to utilise those friendships that drew viewers to the AMC series in the first place. However, due to the divide in the communities this season, one of those friendships has been neglected - albeit, understandably so.
Michonne and Daryl haven't been in each other's company this season as much as fans would like, which is a real shame because you'd have imagined that they would've mourned Rick's passing together, considering how close they both were to the former sheriff. Well, it turns out that they did exactly just that. We learn via the flashbacks that the pair continued to look for Rick's remains for months after he blew up the bridge. This narrative made for some great scenes between the two characters.
Norman Reedus and Danai Gurira have great on-screen chemistry, and it's wonderful to see Daryl and Michonne working side-by-side again - without any awkwardness between the two characters. With Michonne having finally enlightened Judith as to what went on between her and Jocelyn all those years ago, hopefully Daryl will be sharing scenes with the samurai-wielding warrior more often.
