The Walking Dead Season 9: 6 Ups & 1 Down From 'Stradivarius'

1. The Dynamic Of The Show

The Walking Dead has often struggled with multiple narrative threads, and once the series became about more than one community, it practically threw its own narrative structure out of the window. The show had an annoying tendency to jump from character to character - and settlement to settlement - with each passing episode, which would've been fine had these episodes actually accomplished anything. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case.

The ninth season has largely fixed this problem, finding the right balance between multiple storylines, giving the show a new and fresh dynamic. What's more, TWD no longer feels like multiple shows in one, as there are several events connecting each of the communities to one another. Maggie's departure from the Hilltop and the apparent conflict between her and Michonne, as well as the approaching fair at the Kingdom, are all aiding in joining the separate threads together, while additionally giving the show's central characters a new source of conflict.
