2. It's A Very Foreboding Prequel
And therein lies the draw: this is not a post-apocalyptical study of how humanity endures like The Walking Dead, it's about a massive population standing unknown on the precipice of disaster, and almost tragically stepping off without knowing the horrors that lie below. As well as the immediacy of their familial disputes and clashes, all of the cast will have their own dreams and life plans: and like grotesque voyeurs the audience will be invited to share in the tragedy of knowing that nothing they dream will ever come to pass (unless they have some seriously twisted aspirations). The idea of seeing this tense build to an inevitable end-goal that might not even come within the show's run - just like Gotham's format - is pretty irresistible.
