The Walking Dead Spoilers: Everyone Who Dies At The Fair

1. Henry

The Walking Dead Henry
AMC

This was THE shocker of the episode. While Henry hasn't exactly been a great character, he has seemed to be an extremely important one, for a simple reason: after Carl's death, it's long seemed that Henry was getting Carl's comic book arc.

That was seemingly confirmed by the first hints of a relationship between him and Lydia, so there was a very good reason to believe that Henry was going to be around for the long term. Furthermore, since he's so close to Carol and Ezekiel, killing off the latter - as assumed to happen as it does on the page - would've added further emphasis to his storyline going forward.

Instead, this hammers the point home - as if the deaths of Addy, Rodney, and Enid hadn't already done so - if Alpha's anger, hurt, and hatred of teenagers after Lydia's departure, and sends a much stronger message to her daughter than killing Ezekiel would've done. It subverts all expectations of what the show was doing with these characters, and means that Lydia has a much more personal investment in the story now, and can very much do her own thing, while pushing Carol's own story forward as well.
