The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live Review - 4 Ups & 6 Downs From "The Last Time"
4. Up: Rick and Michonne's Unbroken Bond
How can you not love these two? After several years as The Walking Dead's most compelling and long-lasting couple, Rick and Michonne are more endearing than ever, and "The Last Time" gives them a memorable final hour together (for now. Possibly).
The episode's best moments come in its final scene, where we're finally granted a reunion for the ages, and the opening, where Rick and Michonne spend a day together in bed, talking, plotting, being together in a way that feels truly romantic and authentic, happy no matter what happens because they found each other again.
It's been a long road to get there, and the finale is not without its friction - in an interesting spin on their earlier dynamic, it's Rick who wants to leave the CRM and return home, but Michonne who wants to stick around and cause as much damage to it as possible - but their bond is unshakable to the end, and infectiously pure.
After everything, despite the flaws and hardships, we at least have that.
