The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live Review - 4 Ups & 6 Downs From "The Last Time"
2. Up: It Really Is A Miniseries!
Unlike fellow spin-offs Dead City (centred on Negan and Maggie in New York) and Daryl Dixon (centred on everyone's favourite bowman in France), The Ones Who Lives does actually seem to be a one-shot-and-done deal, so "The Last Time" may actually end up being, well, the last time.
This isn't to knock the show too far, which for all its flaws has been a very entertaining and occasionally very emotionally satisfying tale, but it does mean that in tying up the stories of Rick and Michonne and giving them the farewell they deserved will have a lasting impact after years of it seeming like they'd be on TV for all time.
Knowing this is the end - until an inevitable crossover with Daryl, say, or a brief reunion with the wider characters of the franchise - really hammers its emotional highs home, and serves as a reminder that maybe, just maybe, The Walking Dead is capable of saying goodbye after all.
