The Wire Cast: Where Are They Now?
1. Robert Wisdom
Passionate, dignified, kind, and honourable, Bunny Colvin is one of the most heroic characters in the entirety of The Wire. A ranking police officer who takes a controversial but effective approach to drug policy, then does likewise in the city’s schools, Robert Wisdom’s warm but powerful performance gives us one of the truly admirable figures in the second half of the show.
The charismatic but authoritative actor has found no shortage of TV work in The Wire’s wake, often portraying figures of power. He played Coleman Carlisle in enjoyable musical drama Nashville, the deputy mayor of the titular metropolis. Recurring roles in the likes of Burn Notice and Supernatural kept him in work throughout the 2010s.
As Bunny, Wisdom kept a twinkle perpetually in his eye, and he has transferred that funny bone to, unfortunately, mostly quite bad comedy projects. He had a recurring role in Will Arnett’s self indulgent Flaked, and a part as John David Washington’s dad in The Rock’s mesmerisingly bad sports comedy Ballers.
Most recently, Wisdom can be seen starring on Marvel vehicle Helstrom as The Caretaker, a fighter of the occult.
