The X-Files: 10 Best Characters Only In One Episode
6. Mrs. Phyllis Paddock (Die Hand Die Verlezt)
One of the earliest cult based episodes of the X-Files involves a small town that is shocked when a high school boy is found dead at an old satanic ritual sight after accidentally summoning a real demon to impress some girls. This demon takes the shape of a substitute teacher named Mrs. Phyllis Paddock who then began targeting Satanists and their children for revenge on being summoned.
The satanic cult is revealed to be made up of members of the PTA who had been lacking in their rituals and subsequently accuse each other of being the ones to kill the boy. One of the members, Jim Ausbury, is suspected by Mulder and Scully because of his daughter who after many paranormal attacks ends up uncovering several horrific lost memories.
In her memories, Ausbury's daughter claims to have been raped many times and brought to several satanic rituals by her father unwillingly as a child. Ausbury of course denied the accusations but then quickly changed his mind and admitted to bringing her to the satanic rituals but never hurting her.
Mrs. paddock uses a really cool snake trick to summon a python to eat Ausbury whole and then saves Mulder and Scully from satanic execution by making all the cultists kill each other. Her work done, she vanishes into thin air, leaving behind only a line on a chalkboard that said " Goodbye. It's been nice working with you."
