The X-Files: 10 Best Characters Only In One Episode
5. Nathaniel Teager (Unrequited)
Another Vietnam era soldier who sought revenge against his superior officers, Nathaniel Teager was actually a POW who has been captured in the war and was held inside a camp for decades even after the war and all the POWs were supposedly released.
The veteran held a deep hatred for America for leaving him to unimaginable torture and isolation which drove him insane. And somehow during his time being imprisoned, Teager learned from his captors how to move unseen by moving between the blind spots humans naturally have in their vision.
Teager still took his soldier duties seriously despite his desire for revenge, giving the wife of a soldier who was in the POW camps with him some closure with her husband's dog tags.
While Teager was killed by Assistant Director Skinner after failing to kill the general who was behind his imprisonment, he did accomplish another goal. For just before he died, Teager was to give a list of POWs still trapped in Vietnam to an old squadmate who would be able to get public support to hopefully save those men left behind and prevent anyone else from becoming like himself.
