The X-Files: 10 Best Characters Only In One Episode

4. The Great Mutato (The Post-Modern Prometheus)

X Files
Fox

When the X-Files does a monster episode, the creature itself is almost always the villain and deserves their fate of being killed or treated, but not in the case of the Great Mutato.

A genetic experiment created by a truly mad scientist in a small town in Idaho, the Great Mutato is a man that was born with two faces on his head, though only one can actually talk.

At first glance he seems like a typical X-Files monster of the week but as Mulder and Scully dig deeper into the creation of Mutato and his scientist father they find instead that the real monsters are still humans.

The Great Mutato may definitely be at fault for the unwanted rape of two or more women, despite them falling in love with their children from Mutato. But he also had a deep and somewhat hilarious obsession with the mega-popular singer Cher which ave his episode of the X-Files an awesome soundtrack as he listens to her songs during his crimes. The Great Mutato even gets to meet Cher at the end of the episode, getting the happy ending he deserved.
