The X-Files: 10 Things We Learned From Home Again

2. The Show Has No Problem Going Full-On Gory

From arms being ripped off, to a head being ripped from a torso with a spinal column trailing, Home Again may be one of the goriest episodes of The X-Files to date, and that's saying something. It seems the show is reveling in the gore this season, actually. Founder's Mutation did it as well, but while Founder's Mutation was a sort of weird freaky gorefest, Home Again went the blood and guts route. The Band-Aid Man gets a full five victims in the episode, four of whom are literally ripped to shreds (with one being suffocated with a garbage bag). The final one has his parts left in a nice little pile, which at least makes him easy to identify. Want more evidence? Look no further than the creature's leavings - toxic garbage juice with writhing maggots. A re-watch will remind you how bloody the original series was, but for those who haven't seen it for a while, it's another reminder that The X-Files is not for the squeamish.
